Graphic Design
I'm a storyteller in many ways. Just as how I am a strong believer in the power of the written word, I am also a strong believer in visual communication.
01
Dance in the Parks
I worked as a freelance graphic designer and social media coordinator for Dance in the Parks, a professional dance company based in Chicago.
I designed a 11x17 poster, a 4x6 vertical postcard, an ad for the Arts and Culture booklet and social media posts for each dancer and choreographer.
For the social media aspect, I scheduled each post according to times and dates that would attract the most interaction, and I wrote catchy descriptions to catch the eye of the viewer.

Lucille Tenazas: a deconstruction
My main objective for this project was designing promotional material that showcased Lucille Tenazas not only as a great graphic designer but as someone who understood how the art of words and design were interlinked. Lucille saw graphic design as a medium capable of being compared to poetry, so I wanted to incorporate that into my overall aesthetic, hence the title, Lucille Tenazas: a deconstruction.
03
Rebel Lotus
My final GDII project where I designed my own album based on the albums Barefoot Ballet by John Klemmer and Full Sail by Loggins and Messina.
04
How-to Punch Someone in the Face
For my Graphic Design II class, we were tasked with designing a how-to. I chose to teach someone how to properly punch someone (in self-defense).
05
AIGA April Ask+Give Booklet
As a community engagement member for AIGA Chicago, an organization dedicated in celebrating Chicago's local graphic design community, I was able to design their April 2023 booklet. My goal was to create something that felt personal and lively.
06
LEON: Bilingual Literary Magazine
A literary magazine I conceptualized while working with Allium, A Journal of Poetry & Prose.
07
Sex should not be taboo among Latino Catholics
A graphic I designed for my opinion piece.
08
Say Anything Poster Set
For my GD2 class, we learned about iconography and symbols for the first three weeks of class. Our main goal was to create icons that could be easily recognizable and or universal--like the symbol for poison. The poster set was a culmination of everything we had learned, crafting two recognizable messages, quotes, taglines or song lyrics of my choice, that combined language/type and icon. I also included the icons I created utilizing Adobe Illustrator.
